HELPFUL - esther

Time flies and we're all back in Singapore, back to our normal life. During this whole trip, I've seen a lot of new things I've not seen before in Singapore and ate a lot of local delights which were really delicious.
For this trip, the most unforgettable experience I had was on Friday night.

As we finished our programs for the day around 4+ pm so we were given free & easy time from there onward. So Jing Wen, Shan Qi and myself decided to go to Yi-Hua University shopping area to shop. Shopped till around 9pm before we headed to take subway to head down to Yeuido Gospel Church.
Definitely, the subway line was still like strangers to us and we weren't really sure if we take the correct line and which station to change to a different line to go to our destination. Jing Wen asked a guy for directions on the subway and the guy was super friendly and helpful. He directed us to the subway line which we needed to go to and another uncle also told us that one of the lines can allow us to reach our hotel area faster. They were super polite too.

After reaching Yeuido, we met with our next problem which was how to walk to the church. So we approached a passer-by. He was super helpful too. He even called to ask his friends for directions to help us but I think he wasn't too sure about the directions too in the end. But he brought us to take a cab and wrote down the name of the place in Korean. This would make it a lot easier for the taxi uncle to understand as communication was a barrier at Korea, when we spoke English and most of them spoke Korean.

Their act of helpfulness was really unforgettable. In the first place, I thought Koreans were really ill-mannered as when we went shopping, they showed us faces and were really ill-mannered. When they want you to buy something from them, they talked to you with manners and when you say "It's okay, I want to walk around first" their faces would change. This happened almost all the time so it gave me a bad impression and after the above incident, I know that there are still a part of the population who are willing to help and who are really very well-mannered.

Overall, the study trip to Korea was WORTHWHILE & I really really enjoyed!

Lastly... I wanna say a big big THANK YOU to everybody including the 3 faci s who were with us and the 2 tour guides! If not for you all, this trip wouldn't had been this fun!

THANKS GUYS!
See you all in school soon!
